When Chopin came to England for his 1848 tour he chose three Broadwood grands for his recitals. One for practice, one for London and one for Scotland.

A very limited number of these models exist and they are known as Chopin Broadwood grands. We offered No16440 in our 19 April 2012 sale.

With its pie-crust edging, leaf-motif cheek and the famous Broadwood white label this is a must for those that seek authenticity.

Lot 20 sold for £3,800 (hammer price)
