A 6ft 'old style' Model A grand piano in a rosewood case on turned elephant legs.
Condition Report:
LOT 4 – STEINWAY GRAND
Casework: The case is in good general condition but there is a bit of obvious fade in areas, particularly around the keyboard. There is also a little bit of veneer loss and indeed a veneer repair to the arms.
Frame, Pins, Strings, Soundboard and Bridges: Are solid. The soundboard could do with a clean.
Hammers and Action: The action is good. There is a repaired hammer – the very last note in the bass.
Keys and Keyboard: Is ivory – the condition is generally good but there are two keys in the centre with nibbles to the front.

All instrument fitted with ivory keys dating pre 1975 will be registered with DEFRA & APHA under the new ivory act 2018. All pianos dating from 1947 – 1975 with ivory keys will have an Article 10 certificate in place before it is sold.
