Dame Fanny Waterman’s Steinways - September 2020
I always associate Dame Fanny Waterman with her piano teaching books which were a staple of most piano teachers in the past. She later achieved fame as the Chairman and Artistic Director of the Leeds International Pianoforte Competition.
We feel honoured to have two of her Steinways in our Auction Sale of the 29th September 2020 and as you can see from the catalogue, the list of the artists that have performed on them is highly impressive.
Lot 101 Steinway (c1973)
A 6ft 11in Model B grand piano in an ebonised case on square tapered legs.
Estimate: £25,000 – 30,000 - Result: £27,000
Lot 100 Steinway (c1968)
A 7ft 5in Model C grand piano in an ebonised case on square tapered legs.
Estimate: £20,000 – 25,000 - Result: £27,000
