CONGRATULATIONS! Once you have bought a piano, you will then receive your invoice, which we ask to be paid by Bank Transfer.

Delivered

We recommend organizing your transport before you buy a piano. Once you have paid for your piano you can then instruct your chosen transport company to arrange collection with us, sit back and wait for your piano to be delivered.

Viewing takes place on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday prior to the auction. You will need to book an appointment.

Have a chat with one of our specialists about the piano you are interested in or if you need help finding the perfect piano for you. Alternatively, you can bring along your own advisor.

Bid

Before you can bid for a piano, you will have to register with us or one of our online platforms.

You will be asked for the following:

  • Contact details

  • Piano transport method - we have recommended carriers

  • Signature

  • ID - Passport, Driving License or a current Utility Bill

Online Bidding

You can bid live online during the auction through easyliveauction.com.

Please note: easyliveauction.com charge £3 to register for their service.

Absentee Bidding

This is if you would like Piano Auctions to bid on your behalf.

We will attempt to purchase your desired lot at the lowest price up to your pre-submitted maximum bid. Bids can be left with us at the main desk, by telephone or completing the form below.

Telephone Bidding

This is if you would like to bid by telephone.

You will be called two or three lots before your lot number is up for auction. You’ll then be a able to bid live via one of Piano Auctions representatives who will talk you through the process.

Our auctions take place online and commence at 12:00 midday.

Bidding

Bidding starts at Lot 1 and runs in numerical order following the catalogue and amendment sheet.

The auctioneer will start the bidding and invite bids incrementally.

Sold

The lot is sold when the auctioneer brings down the gavel.

The final bid is called the Hammer Price.

Charges

Every lot in our auction is subject to a buyer’s premium on the hammer price. There are three premium structures set out below:

Lot(s) in the catalogue, unless marked otherwise, are subject to 24% buyer’s premium + VAT on the premium

Example:

Hammer Price: £1,000
Buyer’s Premium: £240 + VAT: £48
Total: £1,288

Occasionally some of the pianos in our auction incur additional charges:

Lot(s) *

Marked with an * in the catalogue due to item being sold by VAT registered company/individual.

Example:

Hammer Price: £1,000 + VAT: £200
Buyer’s Premium: £240 + VAT: £48
Total: £1,488

Payment

All payments are to be made in GBP (Pound Sterling) and will need to be made by 17:00 on Wednesday, the day after the auction.

Bank Transfer

We only accept payment via BACS. Our bank account details can be found on your invoice or acquired over the telephone or by email.

Delivery

All pianos must be removed from the venue by 16:00 on the Thursday following the auction.

Any piano that has not been collected will incur a storage charge of £25 + VAT per lot, per day and will be subject to a £65 + VAT (upright) or a £95 + VAT (grand) per lot transfer fee.

£95+VAT will be charged to any other Transport Company needing assistance on collection.

We have carriers that guarantee to remove all pianos by this deadline. They are onsite on the day of the auction and will be happy to give you a quote and advice. You can also get a quote prior to the auction so you can take into account the removal costs when bidding.

If payment in full has not been received by 17:00 on the Wednesday following the auction, then your piano will be packed and held by one of our carriers until your payment has cleared into our bank account.
