Uprights – a picture showing the action - you will need to lift off the front panel.

The more images you send us the better understanding we can get of the piano.

This number is usually printed on the frame and sometimes on the soundboard if it is a grand piano.

If you have any trouble finding yours, please contact us and we will help you find it.

Why sell your piano at auction?

When considering the sale of your piano, participating in a piano auction can be an excellent choice. Here are a few compelling reasons to choose this method:

  1. Maximum Exposure: A piano auction provides an opportunity for your instrument to reach a wide audience of potential buyers, including collectors, musicians, and enthusiasts. Auctions often attract individuals actively seeking quality instruments, ensuring your piano receives maximum exposure.

  2. Competitive Bidding: The auction environment fosters competition among bidders, potentially driving up the final selling price. As multiple interested parties vie for your piano, they may be willing to place higher bids, resulting in a favorable outcome for you as the seller.

  3. Expert Assessment: Piano auctions typically involve professionals who possess comprehensive knowledge of instruments, including their history, condition, and value. These experts can evaluate your piano accurately and provide an expert assessment to potential buyers, enhancing its desirability and perceived value.

  4. Efficiency: Auctions streamline the selling process by setting a specific date and time for the sale. This focused approach saves you the time and effort required in marketing, negotiating, and finalizing a sale through other channels.

  5. Transparency: Auctions operate on a transparent platform, allowing you to witness the entire process. You can see who is interested in your piano, how much they are willing to bid, and who emerges as the highest bidder. This transparency ensures fairness and builds trust between all parties involved.

  6. Established Reputation: Reputable auction houses often have a long-standing history and credibility within the industry. Choosing to sell your piano through a recognised auction house adds legitimacy to the transaction, increasing buyer confidence and potentially attracting a larger pool of interested bidders.

In summary, selling your piano at a piano auction offers the advantages of increased exposure, competitive bidding, expert assessment, efficiency, transparency, and the benefits of working with an established auction house. These factors combine to provide a promising opportunity for a successful and satisfactory sale of your instrument.
