Lot 108 - Blüthner (c1934) - | Est. £2,000 - £2,500 - Amendment

£1,800.00

Amendment: A 4ft 11in Style 4 grand piano in a walnut case on square tapered legs.

Ivory Registration Number: MNADUC4J

Condition Report:

LOT 108 – BLÜTHNER GRAND

Is in a walnut case.

Casework:  The case is in generally good condition considering its age.  There are areas of water damage but these are fairly mild, there is fading and there are one or two scratches and a little breakdown of the polish.  The breakdown of the polish and the water marks are most severe on the underside of the fold-forward part of the top lid, so please bear this in mind.

Frame and Soundboard:  Are generally good.  There is evidence of competently executed shims and some of these look as if they might be opening again, but this is having no bearing and should not be of concern.  Somebody has left a damp cloth on the soundboard, presumably during cleaning, and this has left white water marks on the soundboard under the frame at the treble end.  The pins and stringing are good.

Keys and Keyboard:  Is ivory and is in good condition and needs nothing more than a clean.

Hammers and Action:  Are good.

General Notes:  This is a nice little piano.  It plays well and sounds good.

This report is based on a cursory examination and is our opinion only.  It does not constitute a guarantee and potential buyers should satisfy themselves about the lot before bidding.
